[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is The Breeders playing “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love with You),” from their 1993 single, Divine Hammer.  The song is Hank Williams cover, and I think The Breeders do it justice.  “Divine Hammer” itself is also a wonderful song, but if you have Last Splash, you already know this.

The Hank Williams cover is, to my knowledge, not available except on the single.  Put on a scarf and tell your high school friends about how obscure it is!  “I was into The Breeders before I was even born,” you could say.

The Breeders have the great distinction of having Kim Deal as their frontwoman.  She is also the bassist for Pixies.  She is so cool that the Dandy Warhols have a song written in ode to her.  If you don’t know The Breeders, do yourself a favor and listen to them.  Their first two albums, Pod and Last Splash are really great examples early-’90s alternative rock and roll.

Sincerely,

Reverend Harris
