This is Gorillaz playing “Joplin Spider,” from their album The Fall, which was released on Christmas day, 2010.  This is a fairly representative song of the new Gorillaz album, which features mostly very electronic numbers like this one.  There are a few that are more lyrical, but for the most part the album sounds like this song.

I enjoy The Fall, but it’s probably my least favorite Gorillaz album so far.  It feels so much less eclectic than their previous offerings, and that broad range of influence is what makes Gorillaz a unique-sounding group.  The wonderful thing about Gorillaz, though, is that they regularly produce such quality material that even my least favorite of their albums is pretty damn good.  I recommend you check it out.
