[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is Lucinda Williams playing “Can’t Let Go,” from her 1998 album, Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.  It is a great country song from a great country album.  I’m not sure that she wrote it, but her performance of it is certainly top-notch.  It is a badass depiction of the decidedly un-badass period of denial following a breakup.

I think this is song has a very broad appeal.  The slide guitar, the rock and roll drums, the soulful vocals, make it more listenable to people that don’t usually listen to country.  The rest of the album sounds very different from this song, but if you are at all intrigued by it, I think Car Wheels is worth your time to give a listen.

Sincerely,

Reverend Harris
