[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is Black Pistol Fire playing “Jezebel Stomp,” from their 2011 album, Black Pistol Fire.  I love this song.  I have been in a mood that calls for riff-heavy blues rock, and this album delivers.

There are certain songs on the album that come extremely close to sounding just like the Black Keys.  “Jezebel Stomp” and “Sort me Out,” could both almost pass for the Black Keys, for example.  That’s fine with me, I love the Black Keys, and this can serve as filler until they produce another album.

“Black Eyed Susan” sounds more like straight rock—-less bluesy both in structure and timbre—-so the album doesn’t sound entirely like imitation.  Most of it does, though.  They do a good job, it’s worth a listen.

Sincerely,

Reverend Harris
